Some Costa Rican Hummingbirds

I won't be able to do an actual report today, but here are two shots from the famous Hummingbird Gallery at Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. We saw 8 species in 5-10 minutes, but the most amazing part was how close they were. I took both of these shots from less than 2 feet away using the close-up mode on my camera. More photos and the trip report will come soonish maybe.

Violet Sabrewing- Huge and stunning- the king of Costa Rican Hummingbirds

Green Violetear- One of the cooler hummingbirds, and the most cooperative. Also a Bananaquit, not a hummingbird but a nectar-drinking tanager
